Shawbury will play host to the final round of the 2022 H and N Supplies Ltd Championship on Saturday after producing some great racing just under a month ago.
The focus will be on current senior champion Wayne Broadhurst as he attempts to keep title challenger Kevin Gwillam at bay. Broadhurst currently holds a slender 4 point lead and with an incredible line up of talent, this won’t be easy.
Alongside the two title contenders, Graham Thomas will be one to watch and so too will 2021 junior champion Gino Casale. Casale made the step up to the senior class for 2022 and has been a force within the class at the last two meetings. Dave Binns has to miss the final round giving Andrew Rowson and Steve Mace a chance to take 3rd spot. Rowson currently sits 14 points adrift in 4th place whilst Mace will have to take 20 points to match Binns.
Max Broadhurst will be aiming for a top 8 finish after just missing out last time at Alveley and Sam Hall has been burning the midnight oil to rebuild his Honda engine after a blow up last time out. Colin How and Marcus Crutchington also travel to the Shawbury circuit, both have had mixed fortunes on the FGA this year. How has been consistently in the top 6 at the meetings he has done whilst Crutchington will be doing his 3rd meeting of the season on his zongchen powered machine which he has struggled to get set up to suit his needs.
Jake Breeze will be back and hoping to move up from 9th place in the standings despite missing the last two rounds. Breeze with have to score 6 or more to pass Sam Hall but has nick Bull hot on his rear wheel 1 point behind
John Cox and Tom Crewe will be back for more 125 action with both talking about doing more Formula Grasstrack events next year, they’ll be hoping to finish the season off with some decent results.
In the youth classes, Lilly Bence who is now the inaugural e-bike FGA champion with more than 70 points between her and Toby Cossar. Cossar will also be joined by younger brother Albie, making his grasstrack debut aged 4. Jessica Cox is the loan cadet and will take the cadet title. Cox will be in with auto cadets Charlie dowd, aj Bence and dakota Wright who returns for his 2nd fga event. Dowd currently holds an 8 point lead over bence and will only need to show up to lift the trophy for the championship.
Archie Whitelam is the lone cub as Logan Price looks unlikely to make it due to transport issue however Price has secured the title. Whitelam will be in with the Junior chargers and with Max Derrick and Ollie Binns missing this one, the class only has 4 entered. Joe Crewe looks destined to lift the trophy with a 14 point lead over brother Jack. Whilst Jack Baker can already be happy with his 3rd place overall. Isaac Collins-Bullock will continue his debut season making his 3rd appearance of the year.
A bumper entry once again to finish the formula grasstrack season off in style. It’s one not to miss!
